TPACK which stands for (technological pedagogical content knowledge) is a model that helps educators evaluate their knowledge to consider how to properly integrate it in the classroom. The model features three different types of knowledge; technological, pedagogical and content. It helps teachers think about their knowledge to be able to better teach their students and engage them with technology that will be beneficial for them. It seeks to enhance a child’s learning experience.
It is an essential tool for educators as it stipulates that one should take a step back on the piece of technology in question that they want to present to their class and evaluate what they know and how they can present it in an effective and interactive way. By using the TPACK model a teacher is making sure they cover all fields of knowledge that will be beneficial to a student’s learning. It also allows for a teacher to grow a better understanding with the material they are using as they must explore in depth how to meaningfully apply it.

It is in place to encourage more advanced thought with students by building on their less advanced cognitive skills.
