I am delighted to have had the privilege to complete for second stage at PETES. It was truly an amazing experience and look forward to crossing paths again with this school in the future. I was lucky enough to get placed with extraordinary cooperating teacher that went above and beyond in making me feel welcome as well as sharing crucial information, resources and knowledge with myself. Not only did she welcome a stagiaire with open arms yet she was willing to further my understanding of what truly is involved in a teachers role. Furthermore, my CT shared a great deal of resources and material that I will be able to use one day in my own classroom.
Truly an amazing experience that I will never forget!
The rainbows were created in Kindergarten as part of an activity plan that I created alongside my university classmate as we completed our stage together. A competency that aligns with the rainbow activity is competency 4, implement teaching learning situations. The competency is demonstrated through this activity as we are implementing our teaching strategies through the execution of our activity. The activity went very well with the K students and I would definitely repeat it again or suggest to it peers and/or colleagues.
I had the amazing opportunity to be placed with an extraordinary cooperating teacher. She went above and beyond for her stagières. She shared with us crucial materials and resources that will greatly help is down the line when we have a classroom of our own. It was a pleasure to watch her teach as her passion for teaching truly shines through. Her classroom is organized, permits for diverse seating methods and more importantly fosters a differentiated teaching style. The classroom as well as the teacher explicitly aligns with competency 8, students love of learning. The experience has inspired me to continue working hard as the turnout is well worth all the education.
In my 2nd field experience, one of my tasks was to create a learning plan alongside another student. The exit ticket was the final piece to the puzzle and helped bring the lesson to a close. I wanted to highlight it as it is my first personalized lesson that I took part in presenting to a class. The topic revolved around internet safety, a topic that is well worth discussing with students given the how our society has evolved. Our lesson focused on competency 13, act in accordance with ethical principles of the profession. Students should act in an ethical manner on the internet as much as in person in the classroom. By showing students ethical principles and fostering strong relationships with them, the goal is for them to respect and follow along.
