The snapshot is to display some ideas that could be used in a kindergarten classroom. I want to show the importance of understanding a young child's development and how to properly support them in their educational path.
The goal of this activity is for students to work with numbers and number recognition. Students will have 1 minute in the sensory sand box to gather flowers that can be found within. Once the timer has rung, students will be able to sort and clean off the flowers on a tray beside the box. Following that, students will be able to place the flowers on number cards. In short, the activity is designed to get students to engage with hands-on learning while learning and reviewing their numbers.
This activity will prioritize the development of math skills such as counting, adding, pattern recognition, and shape association. To support the theme of Spring, as a class, students will be creating a mural of spring elements. There will be templates of clouds, flower stems, caterpillar faces, and trees. For each of these elements, students will have a different math direction to complete the mural with finger paint and shapes.
This activity will be a Bingo Board game that involves numbers for students to begin counting and practice their number recognition skills. The activity will involve the students marking off numbers on spring themed cardboard cards which they will each have one.
